Coach’s Corner

Case Study - Stemming the Slow Slide

A sales manager in a leading service company was under constant, fluidly upward adjusting, sales objectives and continuous reduction in territory.  It seemed to be an extremely toxic management environment for this client. The client's health and emotional well-being were being diminished by the stress of these
continuous changes.

Coaching led the client to see the strong positives of the current job vs other jobs, and to set a “trigger” of minimum conditions that had to exist for him to stay in the job.  If the sales targets or territory worsened beyond one of those trigger conditions, then he would need to find another opportunity.  But this
realization and decision process allowed him to move ahead confidently.

Coaching can provide that “external sounding board” and perspective when there is a slow slide or creep occurring in the executive’s company.
